The line between web design and graphic design has become blurred, and I am a professional who can truly navigate these fields. By coupling traditional graphic design skills with a true understanding of how code works, I build beautiful and realistic design concepts for the web, from wireframe to pixel-perfect layout. I build designs for outside development teams but I also code custom WordPress sites myself using a solid understanding of HTML and CSS (and a bit of PHP too). For those of you visiting with an eye towards my web development skills I would like to note that I built this site by hand myself (using Automattic’s amazing Underscores starter theme).
I created this Dashboard UI for Mission Control, a Massachusetts based company that created this helpful Quickbooks plug-in designed specifically to help non-profit organizations better manage their finances, track their donations and manage their budgets by compiling the relevant information into a single concise display along with a user-specific news feed, forum links, help chat, member count and an alert for report deadlines. I worked with the Mission Control team to help them visually organize the information in a logical way and style the graphics to match the space exploration theme of their brand (I also designed their logo identity). The design was created using Adobe Illustrator and is composed mostly of vector graphics with a dimensional metal facing texture created in Adobe Photoshop.
Audience Rewards is a premium points package based in New York City that offers a wide range of rewards, from collectible items to VIP experiences, for Broadway fans who purchase tickets through their service.
Their goal was to rebrand their existing web ticketing functionality with the visual identity previously created by the design team at Brigade, LLC. I worked directly with the Audience Rewards marketing department to visually organize their pre-existing framework and style the site consistent with their new brand. The site was built to pixel-perfection in Adobe Photoshop for the Audience Rewards internal web development team to program.
Over the course of the project I also created a wide range of marketing materials for use on the web, email and mobile devices – newsletter designs, digital promotions and advertising assets. Working directly with the Audience Rewards sales and marketing team we created a tactical set of promotional materials that showed off their new brand and advertised an ever-changing assortment of offers, all while keeping within the limitations and constraints dictated by the various theaters and shows with which they partnered with.

While working as a staff designer for Brigade, LLC I was asked to help build the redesign of the company website, which was previously built as a static HTML site. I built this custom WordPress site based on a visual design concept by our creative director Kirsten Modestow and fellow designer Justin Zucco.
I customized the chosen theme to match the design concept, ensuring that all elements adapted naturally on all devices, customizing the site by hand through carefully planned HTML and CSS modifications. Adding my own artistic touch to the design I created the incredibly detailed team member silhouettes by hand in Adobe Illustrator (right down to a stray hair or two).
The entire team contributed by building out individual page layouts which I then coded and adapted to work on the site. I have since moved on from the Brigade team and no longer maintain the site myself, but I was incredibly happy to have helped bring their portfolio site onto the WordPress era.

I created this website design concept for Vertical Water, one of the country’s leading producers of maple water. Working closely with my creative director and our copywriter I set out to help tell the Vertical Water story in a clean, responsive framework promoting their mission and setting them apart from other brands in their field. The final deliverable was a pixel-perfect and notated Photoshop file that we handed off to the development team for programming.
I created this website design for Feronia Forests, an organization based in The Berkshires dedicated to conserving forests by incorporating a commercial incentive into sustainability. My goal was to create a simple website that showcased the natural beauty of the forests central to their mission, to tell the story behind the family of brands fueling their initiative and invite consumers to become active in their mission to sustain US forestland. The final deliverable was a pixel-perfect and notated Photoshop file that was handed off to their outside development team for programming.
I created this website concept for Jewish Geriatric Services Lifecare, a not for profit elder health care resource. I set out to create an organic design inspired by the artistic Judaic tradition of paper cut art that would stand apart from the sterile, corporate websites commonly associated with elder care services. I used this design to communicate friendliness, compassion and welcoming presence to potential clients. Though the client chose to go with a different layout for their site, the paper art concept continued to influence the project as it progressed.
Lindsay Van Dyke
I created this custom WordPress site for Lindsay Van Dyke, a talented filmmaker based in Boston, who makes short films, music videos and documentaries. I worked with Lindsay to create an organic, artful design and customized the chosen theme with this visual direction. At the end of the project I was able to put together a beautiful looking site that achieved all of the goals we set out to accomplish within a very small budget.
